I am a 23 year old front lines man in the 2nd Fallschrimjager . My unit compiles of 360 men, led by Hauptmann Reinhardt. I carry a Karabiner 98a and a pistol. I have no family. My father, and 4 brothers died on the battle field. My mom and sister where medics on the battle field and also died. I am alone now and i am ready to do anything my commander asks me to, i will die for my country. My reaction to the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand
Hauptmann gathered us all into a meeting; he told us Germany is now in the war vs. France, Britain, and Russia, we got into this war because Serbia assassinated the France duke of Ferdinand. We would be one of the first on the front lines following the plan Count Alfred von Schleiffen thought of, we are going through Belgium with no problem and going through France to come to Paris from behind and crush the French wusses, then circle back around back to Germany to go meet Russia on the front line, this will be easy. I was pretty shocked when I heard the France duke of Ferdinand was assassinated, I was wondering how that had happened with all the protection he must have had, I heard they threw explosives at him. I hope they killed that driver, it was his fault the duke got killed. He should have known where he was going.
It's been 2 years since i made my last diary entry, i've been on my feet for 6 months, we had to run through belgium fighting our way through to try to get to Paris and swoop back around to russia after we defeated the french swines. They knew we where coming, Great britian mobilized to quick and the French and brits met us at paris, and we have been stuck in these trenches. I've been living in these god forsaken trenches for 2 full years, hardly any food, gunfire all night, i can hardly sleep. my unit has lost 289 people already. There's only a few left, My haupptman died, he got sprayed down by a machine gun rushing the enemy trench trying to take out as many as he can, he went psycho down in these trenches. I am the commander of my unit now. I received word that russia is getting weaker, a few of the men are starting to revolt, lets hope they pull out

its been another month since my last entry. Russia left the war, but then the US entered, atleast it will take them a while for their men to get to Europe, they will have to sail a long time untill we have to worry about them, personally im more worried about USA then the russians, even though they are closer and have a bigger army, the US are industrialized and are very powerful.
The war is over now, my furor signed the treaty of Versailles, our army was reduced, we had to pay, we lost some of our territory, and we where blamed. This is very outrageous, i was outraged when i heard about this, it was Serbia's fault, not ours, and for them to take our money, our land, and our pride, it is inhumane. We where just following our countries alliances just like everyone else, but for them to blame it all on us and punish us is sickening.
